The Boathouse - Bosphorus
The structure was built by Alexander Vallaury in 1890. As the boathouse of the water mansion located on the Bosphorus shore, boats enter underneath the building and kept there.
It serves as the connection between the house, the sea, and the outside world. It is still and important means of transportation in Istanbul as it was in the past .
From the very first day, the house was designed as a space for hosting guests and holding meetings. Welcoming visitors, offering light bites in the dining room, little chat by the fireplace, moving to the meeting table for business talks, sealing agreements, and celebrating with a toast by the dry bar. Slowly turning towards the sea, conversations drift to life, the beauty of the view, the charm of Istanbul, and a joyful close to the day .
On some days, the house itself must be enjoyed. It’s single bedroom, a sanctuary for such moments .
We carefully planned every corner of the house, imagining how the house could be lived in during meetings, gatherings and exhibitions, how It would come alive in different scenarios. When shaping one's living space, reflecting deeply on one's taste and lifestyle to refine every detail is such a delicate approach, isn't it? Can't even begin to describe the rich conversations that took place, especially with the house being owned by a woman. There's something unique about feminine energy, it nourishes you in ways that are hard to put into words .
Over time, each of these steps has been lived and practiced. New meanings and rituals have even been added. Now, autumn is here again, and the house is undergoing its seasonal transformation. The flowers are changing, and it's being dressed with new accessories. I’ll share more soon .
